Every autograph is collected in person. Here’s each step, for the person asking and the person signing.
Before you start
- Yaravaz on both iPhonesFree. Requires iOS 26.1 or later.

Collecting an autograph
Progress shows as Connect · Sign · Added.

Start a request
On Home, tap + and enter their name. Add an event or a photo suggestion if you like, then tap Connect to Prof. Hale.

Bring your iPhones together
Ask Prof. Hale to open Yaravaz, then hold your iPhone close to theirs.

Match the digits, then confirm
Six digits appear on both screens. If they match, tap Confirm. This unlocks the request, so check first.

They sign
You can put your iPhone away. You’ll get a notification when the autograph arrives.

It arrives
The autograph appears in Collected, marked New. Your co-signature is added after Face ID confirms it’s you.
Giving an autograph
When someone asks for yours. Progress shows as Connect · Sign · Sent.

Open Yaravaz
Someone’s asking for your autograph appears above the tabs. Tap it, or tap More (⋯) > Give an Autograph on Home.

Show the code
Show the six digits to the person asking. They confirm on their iPhone. There’s nothing for you to tap.

See who’s asking
The request opens with their name, the first time you see it. You can decline here.

Sign and seal
Sealing sends the autograph to them. Your copy stays in Given.
Signing on your iPhone
For when they don’t have their iPhone. Progress shows as Hand over · Sign · Seal.

Hand them your iPhone
Choose Sign on > My iPhone, enter their name, and tap Hand Phone to Prof. Hale. Your iPhone locks to signing.

They sign
With a finger or Apple Pencil. For extra security, turn on Guided Access in Settings > Accessibility.

Seal it
When they hand it back, tap Seal Autograph and confirm with Face ID.
If something goes wrong
- The digits don’t match
- Tap Search Again. You’re connected to the wrong iPhone, and nothing has been unlocked.
- The iPhones can’t find each other
- Hold them closer. Or tap Show Code Instead and have them tap Scan Code. You’ll still match the digits.
- Bluetooth is off or not allowed
- A code won’t help. Tap Use My iPhone. Your details are kept.
- They didn’t sign
- You’ll see Prof. Hale didn’t sign, and the request closes. You can start a new one anytime.
- You left the request
- Find it under Waiting for Autograph on Home. Tap Resume, or cancel it.
- Nothing happened after connecting
- Tap Reconnect, then bring your iPhones together again.
Co-signing
- Co-sign on arrival
- Add your own seal to an autograph signed on their iPhone, confirming you received it. It happens automatically after Face ID. To change this, go to Settings > Signing > Co-Sign When It Arrives.
- Signer attestation
- If the signer sets a Claim Code while signing on your iPhone, they can later confirm it was them. Only they know the code, and it’s never stored.
Why you have to be together
An autograph matters because you were there together. Yaravaz is built to show it.
The two iPhones find each other over Bluetooth when they’re close. The six digits come from that connection, so if another device got in between, the screens wouldn’t match. Nothing opens until you tap Confirm.
Nothing identifying is broadcast. There’s no name, no request details, and no list of people nearby. The signer sees who’s asking only after you confirm.
There’s no remote path. A photo of a code or a forwarded link opens nothing. iCloud only carries the finished autograph between two iPhones that were side by side.
Yaravaz confirms the two iPhones are nearby before signing.
